Groceries at home, delivery of medicines and basic goods: the FIVE group (Fabbrica Italiana Veicoli Elettrici) delivered the first electric bikes commissioned by the CRI, Croce Rossa Italiana, which is carrying out the project “Il tempo della gentilezza” to stand by the population hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.

FIVE – Fabbrica Italiana Veicoli Elettrici – has always been devoted to ecological mobility and public utility initiatives, that is why FIVE signed a contract for the supply of e-bikes to the Italian Red Cross. To respond to the COVID emergency during the difficult period of the lockdown, the Red Cross turned to FIVE to develop some activities related to the “Il tempo della gentilezza” project, a service aimed at people with social and health frailties.

At the core of the agreement is the delivery of a large number of Nuvola Lite e-bikes of the Italwin brand. The bicycles will be used by volunteers throughout the country, to strengthen services in favor of the population in need of assistance, for the home delivery of basic necessities, medications and shopping. The “Il tempo della gentilezza” project already counts thousands of services carried out, and to continue the battle against loneliness and social distance, the Red Cross needs to rely on safe, fast and ecological vehicles.

The first stock of bicycles has been delivered to the CRI operating offices in Legnano, Settimo Torinese, Rome and Salerno. The production of the Nuvola Lite was carried out in time and the customized vehicles were supplied with the classic red and white colors. The production is made in Italy: both the frames and the batteries produced in the FIVE factory in Bologna.
Nuvola Lite is an e-bike of the Italwin’s Urban segment, which stands out for the attention to the smallest details. Comfort saddle, Led lights, Shimano gearbox with 7-speed. The frame with low overpass and 26” wheels is very stable and agile for city driving, and the soft start device helps to start from a standstill. The battery is a 500 Wh with Samsung cells, also made by FIVE in the advanced factory plants in Bologna.
